The Silent War Within Facebook

Everyone has different ideas about the best way to promote your page, or your group, or how to make friends with the right people with your personal profile.
My view is that the best and easiest way to make a Facebook page popular is by ranking it in the search engines.
I’m not just talking about the Facebook search engine, although that is fairly easy to beat, in terms of beating the Edgerank algorithms.
I’m talking about ranking your Facebook page on the first page of Google, Bing, Yahoo, and all the major search engines, as well as on a popular Facebook search.
There is a certain way to do this that is different on Facebook than on any other site, although the same SEO principles apply.
Why Facebook?
You see Facebook is a PR 9 site, a very high authority site, it’s a bit like Wikipedia, and you know how well Wikipedia ranks.
The way to convince Google that your Facebook page is one of the more important pages on that huge site is to get a lot of cross links on Facebook.
You can do this by creating similar pages to your first one, and using the second page to like the first one, while using Facebook as that page.
It’s probably not a good idea to make too many of these if you’re not going to go back and update them from time to time, but that’s how you make multiple cross links on Facebook from relevant pages, and the links are do follow within Facebook.
If you post regularly on all the pages, and make back links to all the pages from quality places like blog posts and articles, and then get thousands of likes on your pages and build up the cross links until you have multiple PR 6 or PR 5 pages pointing to yours, it will rank the page on Google.
Think of how Wikipedia does it as well, they link out to high authority pages, while having tons of links back to other pages within the Wikipedia domain.
If you just concentrate on quality, and view the cross linking in the same way as you would do back links on a regular site, you will be able to compete for almost any phrase you want, with a Facebook page.
People are actually starting to pick up on this, and realize that it does help their ranking to get likes, and there are other reasons like social proof which means that the likes business is a huge, multi-million dollar industry.
Getting Likes On Facebook
It is quite easy to get at least some real likes through random clicks on a social swapping site where people earn points to like each others pages, although that’s not how many of the social media marketing sites get their likes for people.
Fake accounts are being created that have a software program making friends and updating the wall of a profile that nobody is looking at, just to appear like a real person to Facebook.
You have people who are completely computer generated who would like as though they were a real person to any one who visited their page.
It’s gotten to the point that pretty soon, the amount of fake users on Facebook who look like real people will have taken over the number of real accounts on the site.
This may seem like a huge problem that needs to be stamped out, because more than half of the people on Facebook are robots.
You could view it that way, or view it in the way that there was never any way to avoid that, and the harder you fight against buying likes, the more fake people there will be on the site.
Whenever there is something of any value online that requires an action by a person such as a YouTube view, a Twitter follower, a Google Plus follower, or anything like that, there will always be someone from now, until the end of the internet who can sell you a button push from a real person, or a robot.
The war on Facebook will go on until the losers accept defeat, and perhaps make a change that allows people to like an infinite number of different Facebook pages with the one account, or do it in a way similar to Twitter.
There are surely better things to do with time than fight against electronic people, because they’re programmed to like everyone.
