Social media marketing is one of the emerging internet marketing strategies that have been proved to bring a lot of buzz about things.

Here are 5 reasons why and how social media marketing improves your online business -:

• Twitter, Digg and Facebook. These are very popular social networking sites. Millions and millions of internet users visit these sites on a daily basis. Everyday, these sites get millions of new members. Placing a really cool and eye-catching advert that also offer freebies in these popular and powerful sites can create the buzz about your online business. It directs traffic from these sites to your online business site bringing in more potential customers.

• Your social media adverts can easily be changed and updated with just a few clicks. If your online business has something new to offer, you can just publish as new advert that offers your new product or discounts and freebies. It does not take awhile to accomplish this, and yet it can drive traffic to your online business site.

Tapping into the powers of social media marketing will help bring the name of your online business into the forefront of your potential customers’ minds, far outranking your competition in the market. Being talked about among the users of social networking sites is a good promotion strategy. It can create awareness of your products among internet users. Furthermore, people find recommendation from their contacts and acquaintances in social media more reliable than simply following an advertisement.

• You can post your online business in social networking sites. You can offer freebies and deals that a lot of people will find very appealing. The catch is that people will have to follow an inbound link that redirects the internet user from the social networking site. In order to build trust, you really have to be true to your promise of giving quality products. Once people begin trusting your brand, they will probably talk about the site that offers freebies with their friends. Through that trust, you have more potential customers knocking on your doors.

• A lot of internet users have gotten fed up with the countless of pop -ups that advertise a different product. People have been ignoring it already and that is a fact. By creating buzz about your product in a social networking site, have more potential customers knocking on your doors.

Social media marketing is the way to go these days. It is a very powerful marketing strategy that can bring a lot of potential customers into your online business.

How to Use LinkedIn to Promote Your Business

March 10th, 2010 No comments

With all the new Web 2.0 sites that are popping up the one that has the most promise for business is LinkedIn. Here are some tips on using this site to promote your business.

1. Get started by building an account and linking to your network of contacts. Do this by searching through your list of customers that you have a good relationship with and ask them to write recommendations for your company, which will appear in your profile. Next setup a group for your business. By creating a group for your business you can expand beyond the reach beyond your network. By doing this you can start discussions, share news and spread the word of promotion sales of the business, post employment offerings and create subgroups of the business.

2. Create short descriptions of business news and use hyperlinks using specific keywords to link to your website. For example instead of visit my website use a hyperlink with the keyword “50% off this item” pointing directly to whatever you are promoting on your site. You can use high frequency keywords throughout your business description in the summary section, experience, specialties and other description categories. Make sure you put your businesses picture in the profile with a link to your website using anchor text.

3. Search through profiles on the site and look to connect to others that are in complementary businesses so that you are not competing with them, but are able to use these connections to build a large list of contacts that will eventually have more people find you and your business.

4. Check out the program called slideshare that lets you share business videos with your network.

5. Use the LinkedIn Question and Answer feature to participate in discussions related to your business that can create links and activity back to your webpage. Look for groups that you can join that have a large and active discussion forum and make sure that your signatures lead back to your website so that some wisely worded comments or answers to questions can potentially have hundreds of prospective people seeing your businesses image.

6. Lastly include your LinkedIn profile on your website and as a signature on your emails

Marketing Your E-commerce Business Through Social Media Networks

March 10th, 2010 No comments

The goal with social network marketing is twofold:

1. You are trying to enhance your site’s community by establishing outposts on social networking sites so people who share your interests, or are interested in your products and services, find you and your site.

2. Getting involved in social networking multiplies the number of places that your site and your products can be found by search engines, which is critically important to the success of your e-commerce business.

How To Leverage Social Media Networks To Our Advantage?

Simply, we are trying to spread the word about your e-commerce business. You can take your product reviews or blog posts and spread them as far as possible online enlisting the help of these sites. It’s important to make sure the content you’re promoting is interesting and helpful to the audience you’re trying to reach. Remember, people like to do business with their friends if they’ve never met you offline. By being reasonable and participating in social networking, you’ll expand your credibility and potential customer base in many important and helpful ways.

It’s also important to recognize that these social media outlets were designed to serve as conversation platforms, and not as overt marketing channels. Sending messages that are overly promotional or commercial is often compared to shouting at a party where everyone else is chatting quietly, and the backlash can overwhelm the benefits of participation. As an ecommerce business owner I recommend taking a couple of weeks to monitor the various sites to get a sense of the patterns and informal rules before posting anything.

Which Sites Do You Need To Target?

Here’s a brief overview of the important sites you need to target:

Digg.com: Digg is a popular social news website in which community members vote articles up and down, with the most popular articles appearing on the front page. Users submit articles on topics including technology, world & business, science, gaming, lifestyle, entertainment, sports and offbeat. Having an article reach the home page can generate a tremendous amount of traffic to your e-commerce venture very quickly, but a Digg link can be helpful even if you don’t make the front page. Your link will be archived and available to search engines, as well as being available to users who search within the Digg archives directly.

Twitter.com: Twitter is generating a ton of online buzz, and for good reason. The short messaging service is evolving into a communication and news platform that e-commerce ventures can’t afford to ignore anymore. Twitter allows users to exchange short messages that are limited to 140 characters, which is roughly about 25 words or so. Many sites have found good success posting (“tweeting,” in Twitter lingo) short summaries of new blog posts or product reviews, highlighting interesting articles or trends in their area of expertise, or just reaching out and seeing who might be interested in the same things they are.

Twitter’s ‘hashtag’ (#) function, for instance, makes it very easy for users to search on specific events or topics other users have marked with hashtag function. Many attendees at popular conferences, for instance, use hashtag searches to find and meet each other. Check Twitter’s search page (search.twitter.com) to see popular topics generating user interest.

Facebook.com: Facebook has long been popular with college-aged students, but since it opened its doors to a general audience, the site has been growing rapidly, with most new users coming from an adult audience that’s over 30. To reach this growing audience, e-commerce venture owners can create positive marketing relationships on Facebook in two ways. The first and most obvious way is to invite customers to “friend” you on the site. You may not want customers to share the same details or photos you’re sharing with friends and family members, but you can create limited profiles that allow people to get a bit of a behind-the-scenes look into your business without revealing too many personal details.

In addition, while Facebook is best known for its personal “profiles,” it does let organizations create pages that allow Facebook members to become fans of your e-commerce venture. While they may be more likely to become fans of a football team or a Bollywood star, Facebook fan pages give your venture another opportunity to highlight interesting content related to your business and, almost more importantly, provide search engines with another place to discover content about, and related to, your e-commerce venture and your market niche.

If you do not have a personal Facebook account, you can create a specific account for your business. According to Facebook, a business account can add information, photos or videos just as a personal account can, but can’t see information about visitors and can’t explore other areas of Facebook, so this might not be the best option for your e-commerce venture.

MySpace.com: Similarly, MySpace is a popular site especially with younger consumers, that’s becoming an important marketing tool for e-commerce businesses (and a critical outlet for bands to reach their audience). As with Facebook, you can reach this growing audience by forming relationships with customers and other people. In addition to setting up a profile, MySpace lets users join and create groups that attract people who share your interests or hobbies. If you’re trying to sell guitar accessories online, joining groups that serve guitar players would give you great insights into their interests and equipment needs, and allows you to share content and create relationships with other members of the guitar-playing community.

Does Social Media Networks Really Help?

If you want your e-commerce business to stand out amongst the crowd it’s becoming necessary to have these tools on your website. Your business will not survive over the long term if you are not connected with the audiences within these networks. Furthermore you can achieve great success simply by offering something of value and your e-commerce business can go viral very quickly.

Take the time to understand how these social media outlets fit into your e-commerce business and over time you will start to see the benefits.

How Keywords Impact Google Rankings

March 10th, 2010 No comments

Google search engine is the most important and highly popular web search engine. It is widely used because it returns relevant results for any search phrase. Therefore, a dream of every internet marketer is to have a website on top positions in Google search results. But for each keyword or phrase you will need a different page to rank in search results. It is very unlikely that one page will rank for more than one popular phrase. But with proper keyword selection and some SEO it is possible to easily reach top positions.

One simple but unavoidable fact is that there can only be one website on the first position. Google currently does not support more than one page on each position. This means that for each search phrase there are many pages that try to rank on the first page. This is called competition. If there is a very strong competition for some keyword then it would be very hard if not impossible to reach high ranking positions or even first page. Therefore, it is necessary to target keywords that have weak or low competition. Only with such keywords it would be possible to reach high positions with some reasonable effort. In some cases even without any search engine optimization it is possible to get on top positions. The key factor is keyword competition. Of course, you can also select highly competitive keywords, but is such case a significant effort would be needed for decent ranking.

Keyword competition estimation is a very difficult task. To be able to confirm suitability of some keyword in terms of competition, a lot of searches and checks need to be done. This is a very time consuming process. Doing it manually is possible but a more elegant and faster approach is by using dedicated keyword research tools. Market Samurai and Micro Niche Finder are two popular keyword analysis tools. Both offer also SEO competition analysis. The best approach in competition analysis is to list all relevant on-page and off-page optimization elements and evaluate them in terms of what would be possible to achieve with our target keyword.

Another very important aspect of keywords is their search volume. Most search phrases people use to find things on the web have low search volume. This means that they are not used frequently and such phrases should not be targeted. It only makes sense to target keywords that have high search volume. Only with such keywords you will have some benefit of being on top position. The benefit is obvious. If you have a website on the first position for some specific keyword then you will get approximately 42% of clicks or visitors searching for this keyword. This is called organic traffic.

A typical example of using a search phrase for website is the http://lightweightluggagesets.org/ page. This website is focused on lightweight luggage sets and this keyword satisfies both required criteria: search volume and competition.

Ranking in Google search engine heavily depends on keywords. If you target right keywords you have real chances to reach top positions.

Things to Consider For High Ranking of Your Site

March 10th, 2010 No comments

I have heard this time, and again, that some person, or even a company, will guarantee you a #1 position on Google, or perhaps, on all of the major search engines. Being a long time optimizer I feel it is time to set the record straight… or at least let site owners know the actual truth about this guarantee of positioning.

Let’s take a look at a basic super market. In my area one of the biggest in Stop & Shop. I can’t be sure of what is big in your area so fill in the store name with whatever is a major grocery store in your area. OK… now I am going to guarantee you that sometime this year you will be able to purchase Pork Loins for $.99 pound. I will guarantee you this because I know they put them on sale every six or so months so I am absolutely sure that they will do this within the next year. Hmm… but, what if the price of pork goes up to $5.00 per pound? At $5.00 per pound the grocery store simply cannot put pork loins on sale for $.99 pound. It is just not going to happen! So… now back to my guarantee… oops… the basics changed and I can’t deliver on my guarantee. Now what? Well, since I really have no influence or control over Stop & Shop (or your local supermarket) I can’t make them sell pork loins for $.99 per pound. Now I can’t deliver on my promise! This is where Jackie Gleason would say something like “Me and my biiiiiiig mouth!”

Can the personally acclaimed SEO guru who sold you a bill of goods that he can guarantee you a top listing on Google control that search engine? Can that guru control any search engine? Is that person really going to be able to deliver on this promise? Hmm… what happens when he doesn’t?

Funny thing is that in most cases that I have seen, the companies that guarantee you results generally don’t even work on your site, or work very little on it. After six or so months you realize you have been bamboozled and the company disappears, doesn’t return calls or emails, or generally leads you on and on and on and on.

No one can guarantee that Google will list you anywhere… let alone the #1 position. You should steer clear of anyone who guarantees that they can get you listings. Chances are, if they do good work and keep their nose to the grindstone, they can get you some good listings. I just want you to understand that a guarantee is in the general area of “make believe”.

Also, what do they offer for the guarantee? Guarantee or what? Is there something to entice you even more? Well, it better be good. Frequently I have heard of the guarantee being “If we do not get your results, we’ll work for another two months for free!” Wowee!!… Well, if they did nothing for the first six months, chances are they will do nothing for the next two! LOL!

Now, on your side of the fence, you probably are hesitant, need some sort of assurance that something will happen for the money you are looking to invest in SEO. This is very, very understandable. No one can blame any business owner for being apprehensive, especially with online services that you can’t really judge for effectiveness, or with a company that you have no idea who they are, what they will do, or if they’ll even do it. Personally, I can really empathize with this situation. I wonder if all SEO folks can.

It can be argued that a typical business owner has invested a significant sum of money into Yellow Pages ads, or billboards, or TV spots. Yes, this is an investment and no, there is no guarantee. However you can see the TV commercial, the Yellow Pages ad and the billboard touting your business name. But, remember there is no guarantee.

It’s a tough situation. We as SEO people simply, honestly that is, guarantee you a listing. I can guarantee you’ll see my work within the source code of your site, and from the back links that you will find pointing at your site. I wish I could guarantee you that Google would list you at #1… but I just can’t. I can’t because I’m honest, I work ethically and I’m not going to lie to you.

What I can guarantee is that I’ll do my best to get that #1 spot for you. I’ll work hard and long to get you there. I’ll put into practice very technique that I know. I’ll do everything by the book, and I’ll keep my mind open to every new idea that comes along. I just simply won’t lie to you and tell you that I will definitely get you #1 listings.

I hope I haven’t come across as trying to sell you on my business. Of course I don’t want to be in the poor house, but I’m writing on behalf of all honest, ethical and reputable SEO people out there. I think the air needs to be cleared regarding SEO guarantees and make people understand that proper optimization techniques are practices by ethical companies but guarantees just can’t be real.

I hope I have shown both sides of this fence and have helped business owners understand why the people who say they cannot give you a guarantee are more than likely the ones you should be doing business with. Chance are high that you’ll get burned by those who say they can, will and do guarantee top listings on any search engine. Bottom line is… no one person or company has any control over the major search engines that will give them the power to make your site show up in any particular position within the search engine results.

SEO Writing Service – Blogs, SEO Articles, Website Content

March 8th, 2010 No comments

There are many SEO writing service strategies used when marketing a business on the Internet for SEO. The World Wide Web has opened up many opportunities for entrepreneurs and allowed them to share a wealth of information with potential customers in an effort to expand their overall customer bases. Such strategies have proven very successful and easy to implement. The best part? Many are free. Below you will find five tips that will help you begin to utilize some of the most successful free website marketing strategies available. It is important to remember that website marketing doesn’t have to take up an absorbent amount of your time. While it is certainly in your best interest to utilize the tools available to you, such as an SEO writing service, a few simple strategies will often do the trick and won’t take up so much time you aren’t able to do anything else.

Start a blog. A professional SEO writing service can help with blog writing. Blogs allow you to share important information in bite-sized bits while providing links to the bigger picture. For example, you run a furniture restoration business. You have a website but you want to attract more customers. You start a blog on a site that is dedicated to this purpose. You want to post enough information to make people think, wonder, and take an interest. You might consider posting a few paragraphs about your business or about a particular service you provide that makes you unique. After the few paragraphs you can include a link to your website where interested customers can go to obtain more information. You can also include pictures to further entice your readers.

An SEO writing service can write SEO articles. One of the best ways to prove your worth is to show others your expertise in your industry. Writing articles gives you the opportunity to do this and promote your business all at the same time. Since search engines use keywords to help determine ranking, you want to make sure you choose the most likely keywords potential customers might use when looking for services such as yours.

Obtain reciprocal links. This means that when you link to a site that is relevant to yours, you should also request that the owner of that site link back to you. That way when people visit the other page they will find yours. This is one more great way that a professional SEO writing service can promote your site and make it even more visible to those surfing the Internet.

Write and post classified ads. An effective classified ad written by an SEO writing service will attract new customers to your site and make them want to know more. There are many avenues available for posting free classified ads and it’s worth it to take advantage of all you can find. Make sure your ad is catchy, to the point, and relevant to what you are selling or giving away. If written correctly, it can bring customers to your site like never before.

For a professional SEO Article Writing Service at an average of just 2 cents per word, visit our article writing website. Our Article Writing Service is highly affordable and professional. This rate also applies to blogs, SEO articles, website content, advertisements and more when you order 25,000+ words at a time. How to Manage Your Google CV

March 8th, 2010 No comments

As nearly everyone knows by now, Google is one of the most powerful search engines and providers of online tools. When people are interested to know about you or your business, one of the first things they do is search Google. That’s right, your Google CV is the first impression people have of you, so it’s important to know how to manage your reputation in Google effectively. Here are a few tips to get you started:

Know What’s Crawled Before You Sign Up

Every day dozens of websites ask visitors to register with their names, create a username, and establish identities in online communities. While it’s illegal to share your email with third parties, many websites and social networks have no problem sharing your name or username with Google and you can be sure that many of these websites will be some of the first results on your Google CV.

Before you sign up to a website, check to see if the website is crawled on Google. See what kind of content is showing up and then determine if you should register to the site and what information you can list there.

Keep Track of Where You’re Registered

As people register to more and more websites everyday, it can get challenging to keep track of all the separate accounts and identities that you or your business may have online. If you have a Google Account you can easily sign up for Google Docs and use a spreadsheet to keep track of all your usernames and passwords. This is a highly effective way to make sure that as you establish more online identities, that you’ll be able to update them with you or your businesses’ information easily and not leave any old information on your Google CV.

Register to Websites that Improve Your Google CV

Most people and businesses have an idea of the image they would like to portray online or an image that they’d like customers to associate with their brand. The best way to craft your Google CV is to register to high ranking websites that will improve your online image. Today there are thousands of niche social networks that rank high on Google and can improve your online identity. Some social networks, like LookupPage, rank especially high on Google and are built for helping users create a positive image online.

Take a Pen Name

While in some social networks, like Facebook and LinkedIn, is it expected that you will use your real name, many websites give you the option to use a nick name or pen name. You should only register your real name to social networks and websites that improve your online image and brand. For other websites, take a pen name or nickname so that you don’t risk having the website connected to you or your company’s Goolge CV.

Sign Up for Google Alerts

If you have an account with Google, you can register for Google Alerts and get an email every time Google indexes a new page with your name or your business. Setting up Google Alerts is easy, and helps you to know immediately as your reputation is being built online. One tip: Make sure that you place quotations around your name when you are searching or setting up your Google Alert, this way you’ll get very targeted results.

Ehud Furman is the CEO of LookupPage. With a host of products suited to improve online visibility of businesses and professionals as well as a blog that provides many tips on how to build your online presence, LookupPage exists to help you build your personal brand online.

How to Get on the First Page on Google

March 8th, 2010 No comments

Step 1 – Research Keywords

When you have something of use to people, you’ll need keywords to bring them to your website. Your keyword can be one word, many words or phrases. Multiple words and phrases do best because they are more specific, which is pleasing to potential customers because they can find you easier this way. Keywords also help in giving you better search engine rankings.

Now, you’ll need to brainstorm about your keywords; think of alternative keywords too. Have a list of about 30 keywords/phrases. Pick out two keyword phrases you believe are searched the most. Remember, the more competition you have, the harder you need to work to make it in the top 10 for search engine results. This means you need to choose two keyword phrases that are relevant to your business and are not used near as often.

Step 2 – Web Copy

The text you see on websites is called web copy. For that reason, you’ll need to strategically place your keywords/phrases on the web page in order to convince the search engines that your material is highly relevant. Bear in mind that your customers still need to come first. Here are five ways you can improve search engine rankings with your keywords:

- Place keyword in headings
- Keywords need to be at the page’s top
- Bold keywords when needed
- Don’t have links that guide readers to other pages, just reword content with keywords.
- Keywords should be an HTML title tags; do this yourself or have someone else do it

Once you’re done, add new content that includes current descriptions and other information on your products/services. If you can’t write or don’t have time, use article directories that can give you these for free. Remember… pictures are nice but search engines can only read text.

Step 3 – Linking

When websites have links, it will drastically improve search engine rankings. The reason for this is that bots will see the amount of links and determine its popularity. Still, it’s the quality of the links and not the amount of links that makes a difference. Make sure the other website links are pertinent to your website content. Go through the different websites that are relevant to you so you get guaranteed search engine rankings; write letters, describing in details how their visitors could benefit from knowing your business and request they generate a link back to your site.

Now you’ll need to monitor the rankings by typing in the chosen keywords. If you find that you’re lacking, make changes to improve search engine rankings. Always keep the site updated and increase how many links you have back to your site. As you get better search engine rankings, you’ll see an increase in traffic, which should eventually turn into sales.

How to Get Free Advertising For Your Business

March 8th, 2010 No comments

Finding ways to get more traffic for your organization is crucial for the prolonged term success of it. One of the ways to generate this type of traffic is by using free press releases.

The most in force way to do this is by creating a boom, white paper, or an eBook on a topic that relates to your business and then giving that upshot away.

Once you write one of these types of information products, you can contact several online services and have them give it to their subscribers and visitors.

You could also create a press or media release about what is going on in your business. You can then submit this product to online services that accept such submissions.

When you submit it to an agency, they post it, and you could potentially receive hundreds and hundreds of visitors to your website in just a few days. This can be done repeatedly for no, or low cost, and with your expenses being low, compared to how much you can make by doing this, it becomes a great strategy to add to your marketing arsenal.

Offering a free report or newsletter, along with press releases or media releases, creates a powerful and inexpensive way to drive traffic to your website. It will also enable you to gain credibility by providing useful information to your visitors. This will also help to launch relationships with your visitors, clients, and prospects and enable you to develop trust with your clientele. It will, without doubt, set you apart from people who don’t know where to begin.

It has been found that free offers like giving customers a free audio disc or tape, giving away free tickets to a seminar, providing free consultation to your visitors, and holding a free drawing or having a giveaway will actually increase in intensity traffic, trust, and respect. These efforts, because they allow you to build relationships, will get rid of the idea that all you care about is taking the customers money. You can benefit through the years by providing such incentives to people.

Here are a few links to services that will accept submissions and give you a place to get free publicity.

Money All Around on Twitter

March 8th, 2010 No comments

Twitter is a great source for adding an extra revenue stream to your business. There are a number of ways this can be achieved. I will discuss three very different paths to Twitter revenue in the paragraphs that follow, because there are so many different types of people who use this service.

1. The first approach to using Twitter for your business is to use it as a place for advertising. While Twitter is cutting down on this approach, you could be a successful advertiser on the site. The way to use this method is the easiest, but least profitable over the long term. It is also how most new twitter users will start using Twitter for their business.

The idea is that you send out ads about your services or products through links to your website or an affiliate link. The benefit is that you have then provided a means for your current customers and prospects to buy from you immediately. The downfall is that too much advertising and your base will stop following you on Twitter.

Balance in this case is therefore key, so you can then provide information, quotes, and articles throughout the day along with your advertising shtick at the beginning or end of the day. Note: If all you do is advertise, Twitter will suspend your account. That means err on the side of caution.

2. The second method is that instead of using advertisements, instead demonstrate your knowledge and expertise in an area. I have had greater success using this then with the advertising alone. For example, instead of directing people towards an ad, what I generally do is direct them towards my blog, because that is a great place for me to demonstrate my knowledge on the subject.

Once people have a chance to see how much you know about a subject, when you contact them through your mailing list that you built on your website, there will be a greater chance for a sale to occur.

3. Build a relationship. I have had the fortune to work with everyone from businesses, entrepreneurs, and real estate investors to first time home buyers and consumers. Some of the products and services that I sell, such as homes, mortgages, websites, search engine optimization, and social media training require more of a personal touch. What I have found is that the best way to get in touch with the decision makers is through connecting with them on Twitter and other social networking sites. I can then either direct them to Facebook or LinkedIn so we can learn more about each other or I can start communicating with them through email and later phone.

Building a personal relationship is possible through Twitter. I know because I have done this time and again. Additionally, I know numerous businessmen and women who have done the same thing. The key here is that you must not just focus on yourself. The quickest way to kill a conversation with me on Twitter is for you to tell me to go to your website to buy your product on the first tweet. Instead start talking to me. Build that relationship and go from there.
